Have you been looking at all the photos from CHA??
Maybe some of you have even been.....I'm making it my own personal mission to get to a CHA
and yes even if it will mean flying again!! (serious phobia of flying) I will get there!
I have even bought a jar to start my CHA fund! lol
So I might not of physically got there but......SQUEAL!!!
I was asked by the gorgeous Dyan Reaveley to create a piece for the Rangers Designer challenge!!
OMG I was blown away to be asked..... I've always Oood and arrrrred and admired the previous years challenges, this is a huge mahoosive honour!
I'm actually pinching myself to have my piece on display.....WOW!
So heres mine on display!! Whoohooo!!
We had rules to follow.....we had to use a canvas board with one colour from the Dylusions range
(along with white and black)
I got Postbox red........a really gorgeous vibrant red!
I must admit It was a challenge to use just one colour.....I love dylusions and just wanted to use them all lol!
I covered the board in old page text then got my postbox red inked up lots of card, tags and black card
I put it all together with lots of stitching with my sewing machine
I used the white linen spray to stamp the leaves onto black card and cut lots of them out
(You will Love the white Linen spray...its just AMAZING!!)
The face image is one of Stampers anonoymous/Tim Holtz classics #1
To create the saying I used my dymo machine
it reads
"stars cant shine without darkness"
I cannot tell you all how much this means to me.....
thank you sooooo much Dyan........ I'm having a sherry to celebrate (clinks glass!)

Hey there Kaz, first thing I saw when I looked at all the pictures of CHA was YOUR amazing creation, then your name right next to it...wowwzersss what an honor, my goodness it is fabulous really AMAZING wowwzerss where did you get this idea I love it, the LADY in RED wowwzersss. And what a good idea to start the FUND for CHA lol..I hope you will get lots of money in there and you will go over to the CHA someday....I hope I will some day too lol...Hugs and thank you for sharing you amazing creation. Knew this was yours the moment I saw it. It is GORGEOUS. Am amazed by the stitching, I thought it was doodling & that was impressive enough! You did a brilliant job.

ReplyDeleteI think this is such an Honor & I'm sooo happy for you Sweetheart. I too have a phobia about flying but that is about to change when we spread our wings.
I honestly have to say that you took to the challenge very elegantly & this is just amazingly STUNNING! Love the show of how to make hues from Dylusions, that meant the world to me.

ReplyDeleteThis is a gorgeous creation and it is obvious why you were asked! I also have a fear of flying, but have been working on that and it really is not too bad. Just fly with people you know and it makes it so much easier! Really love this striking lady in red!

Lovely work from such a lovely person! I had the distinct pleasure of meeting Dyan in person and now I'm in "luv" with her. She's such a REAL lady. I love her sense of humor and style.
